Good afternoon Wagner Families,
I would like to update you about the on-going concerns around COVID-19, the novel coronavirus that is impacting our community and the world. I want to assure you that the safety of everyone at Wagner is our top priority. We have enacted enhanced deep cleaning protocols and continue to follow up on any potential Coronavirus concerns with staff or students. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Susan Wagner for any staff or students. As we continue to monitor conditions in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, your child may see that we are activating our deep cleaning protocols during the school day in individual classrooms. We are doing this to prevent any potential spread of COVID-19. I want to reiterate that at this time there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 for Wagner staff or students. I will continue to keep you updated if this changes.
As we look at after school events, we are continuing to make the safety of our students, families, and guests our primary concern. For example, tonight’s Vocal Concert has been postponed, as well as next week’s Senior Breakfast, and our College Fair later this month. We intend to bring these events back once we can guarantee the safety of the attendees.
As you may know, the Chancellor has made a significant change to next week’s parent/teacher conferences. He has asked that the conferences take place on Thursday night and Friday afternoon virtually, meaning that parents have been told not to come to school during either session. Teachers will communicate with parents through phone calls, video chats, or emails. I am waiting on more guidance regarding next week’s conferences and once I receive it I will pass it along.
We will continue to support each other as we face this health crisis together. At Wagner, we care for each other and we will demonstrate this as a community, now more than ever.
