Susan Wagner 4, New Dorp 3

By Joe D'Amodio |

Nick Vilardi fired a complete game, allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out six as the host Falcons won a key PSAL AAA Southern division matchup on Friday.

“Nick has pitched well all year for us,” said SW coach Donato Pesce, whose club improved to 8-5 in the league. “He stepped up big and had his best performance of the year. He moved the ball in and out to keep the New Dorp batters off balance.”

The Falcons scored all their runs in the home third, including a hit from Dylan Whites (two-run single).

Vilardi went 2 for 2. Anthony Frange was 2 for 3 with a double. Mychal Mondone went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Wiilie King went 2 for 3 with a triple.

“We have been playing very good ball the last few weeks and look to continue to play the right way as the season winds down,” said Pesce.

The Central Cougars fell to 10-4.
